Food and work go together in University Marketing & Communications!  Working meals provide a great opportunity to save time and share ideas in a collegial environment.

This page provides MarComm preferred vendors that have a track record of quality food and good service, as well as guidelines for best practices when ordering and enjoying working meals.

Feel free to consult with Patrick Holt about your food arrangements, or our event expert Kurt Mueller.  They can offer suggestions based on their experience and help you navigate the payment methods.

Best practices begin with planning at least one day in advance.  In addition, please note: 

  • Setup and cleanup are the responsibility of those who enjoy the meal.  NOTE: Upon specific request at least one day in advance, admin staff may support setup and cleanup.
  • A senior manager should pre-approve the scheduling of a working meal.
  • Limit per individual meal is $20.00.
  • Upon approval, the staff should work with Kurt to order and pay for the meal.
  • You are responsible to provide details about your working meeting.  Make a note of the date, totals (including tip), number of attendees and the purpose of the meeting.  For meetings with less than 12 people in attendance, we are required to report the names of those attending and their affiliation with the university.  Please save all receipts, contracts and/or email confirmations this documentation should be put in Patrick Holt’s mailbox.
