Crisis Communications Slack channel

In the event of an emergency on campus, University Marketing & Communications will be called upon to work closely with campus police and other departments to keep our students, faculty and staff safe and informed, and to share appropriate information with external audiences.

The “cc-group” channel on Slack is the official University Marketing & Communications messaging tool for the team when a crisis hits. Whenever a Crisis Communications drill takes place, and if and when an actual crisis on campus occurs, Julie Flory will notify everyone via this channel.

Every staff person in MarComm should join the cc-group channel and set up notifications so that you are always notified when the crisis communications team is activated. As soon as you see a notification message from Julie, you should respond via cc-group.

If you have questions about WashU crisis communications, please contact Karen or Julie.

The administrators for MarComm’s Slack tool are Galen and Jeff.  If you have questions or requests about Slack, or if you encounter problems using it, please contact Galen or Jeff.
